One great home remedy for treating chapped lips is sugar. However, if you’re thinking about eating the sweet stuff to recover the moisture on your lips, then think again. To use sugar to treat dry lips, first mix two teaspoons of it with one teaspoon of honey. Create a paste with the two ingredients and let it sit on your lips for a  few minutes. Use your gingers to gently rub the mixture around your lips in order to exfoliate it. Wash the paste off with lukewarm water afterwards.

Another home remedy that you can try out to treat chapped lips is coconut oil. It is a natural moisturizer that can treat dry lips due to cold or dry weather. To use it, simply apply the oil several times a day on your lips in order to keep them moist. You can also use olive oil as an alternative.

Milk cream is also a great home remedy for treating dry lips. This is because the high fat in milk cream makes it a really great moisturizer. Simply apply the milk cream on your lips and leave it on for 10-minutes. Don’t be tempted to lick it off. After the aforementioned time has elapsed, gently wash your lips with a cotton ball that has been dipped in lukewarm water. For a quicker way to treat your dry lips, do this daily.

Aloe Vera gel can also be used in treating dry lips. Just put a small amount of the gel on your lips. Doing so will assist in healing your lips, as well as relieving the pain. However, there are some who would rather not go about this route primarily because aloe vera gel doesn’t taste very good. But if you can get by with the taste, then do know that the healing experience is worth it.

Lastly, do note that water is actually a very good home remedy for chapped lips. This is because dehydration is one of the primary causes of having dry lips. So what better way to rehydrate your lips that to bring water into the mix.
